Week 5

Monster descriptions and Anglo-Saxon life


In English this week were have been writing descriptions of the monster Grendel from Beowulf. We have been looking at using a variety of sentence openers and impressive vocabulary.

In Maths we have been rounding 4 and 5 digit numbers to the nearest 10,100,1,000 and 10,000.

In topic we have been continuing to learn about the Anglo-Saxons. We have learnt about village life and how it differed from Roman life. We have also started to learn about Anglo-Saxon justice and punishment.

We are continuing to learn about forces in our Science lessons especially Gravity and air resistance. We are also experimenting with parachutes and looking for anomalies in our results. 

Our spelling pattern is ‘ible’ e.g sensible, irresponsible
