Year 4 Update - Term 5 Week 2

Keep that fantastic work coming Year 4!

Hello Year 4 pupils and parents.

We hope you have enjoyed watching the videos of your teachers, Chimp TV and the Monday morning assembly about boxes, which Mr Barber uploaded for you all. Look out for new videos this week. I wonder who or what you will see?

Hopefully you are accessing the home learning successfully from the work space too and enjoying all the activities we have put in place for you to try.

A huge thank you to those of you who have emailed us your curious ELLI cat questions and home learning work. We have really enjoyed seeing what you are doing in response to the work we have set and have been giving out loads of team points. You are being really creative ELLI unicorns and hard-working, resilient ELLI tortoises.

Don’t forget we will be ringing you at some point this term to check in with you and hear your lovely voices, so look out for an unknown telephone number at the time we have said we will ring.

This week in English, we have some work on wolves and dragons for you to think about and we are looking at the features of narrative poems and revising noun phrases. We are continuing our special spelling focus on possessive apostrophes.

In maths, we are finishing our topic about decimals and we would like the children to then apply their understanding of decimal numbers to money as well as keeping up with learning times tables, practise for when all of those shops finally re-open.

If you haven’t been in touch with us or sent us any of your work yet we would love to hear from you. Take care everyone and stay safe.

Mrs James, Mrs Adcock, Mrs Garrett and Mrs Tabley. :-)

Also, as many of you know much work is being done in support of the NHS. The ‘Younger’ brothers have decided to do something to help the NHS whilst they stay at home and they are both cycling from Land's End to John O’Groats on their exercise bikes. It’s very far, 967km! They are 359 km of the way through . We have raised nearly 800 pounds for the NHS on their website page at  http://www.justgiving.co.uk . Have a look and see for yourselves!

Here’s some of the work which has been sent in this week. Keep it coming. We love seeing your fabulous work.

As an extra, if you listen to Varjak Paw being read can you write a review or do some research and tell us 5 facts about Mesopotamia. What is it? Create a fact file, poster or information text make it interesting.

Year 4 - Celebration of work!

Here are some wonderful well-being posters, don't we just love watching the balloons float about Bristol's bright sky, floating like shimmering, silky bubbles as they disappear into the distance.

This one is designed by Mrs Garrett herself! Which character is like you today?

A beautiful pointilism design - One of Bristol's most famous events - The Bristol balloon festival. Which basket would you like to be in?

Andy Goldsworthy inspired nature art! If you can't go to the beach-bring the beach to you!

What a wonderful 3D bird's nest

Look at this stunning arctic eco-system!

And incredible inverted commas! Look at this Year 4 teachers.

Have a great week!
