HJS is famous for its philosophers. In our lunchtime club, children have an opportunity to explore big questions in a slightly smaller group than in Mr Barber's philosophy lessons. We usually kick off with a "Thunk" to get things going, then a story or a picture which generates the Big Question of the day.
Big Questions
These are some of the questions we have discussed in the past.
- Is lying always bad?
- Can you learn too much?
- We can invent artificial intelligence, but should we?
- What is a child?
- What makes me me?
- What is fair?
- Who is afraid of the big bad wolf?
