Year 4 Term 6 Week 2

One week in to the last term of the year.

Hello Year 4 and parents.

We hope you have all had a good week. Thank you for all the lovely work we have been emailed and for your patience and understanding when we had some technical issues with accessing the home learning document at the beginning of last week.

Thank you also for all the self assessment reports we have received. They have been beautifully presented and amazing to read. You all have so much to be proud of this year. We nearly have a full set for each class now so if you haven’t yet sent us yours, we look forward to receiving it very soon.

Some of you may now be learning in the Spacious Sunshine School (the name chosen for the school by children learning here during lockdown) and lots of you are still learning at home. We have lots more exciting activities, learning and challenges for you all this term and we hope you will be able to stay motivated with your learning. We do appreciate that it can be hard to stay motivated while trying to learn at home without the input and resources you would have had in school, class discussions, sharing ideas and learning with your friends but we know that you are all resilient and your great yeti attitudes will keep you learning as much as you can. We have been so impressed by those of you who are going the extra mile and sending us examples of extra learning you have been doing that we haven’t set. Well done Year 4.

Remember that some of your teachers are now working in school teaching Year 6 or the Sunshine School so they may not be able to get back in touch with you as quickly as they did last term but they would still love to hear from you and will respond.

This week in English, we are practising using adverbials, looking at poems and having a go at spelling words with 'que' and 'gue' at the end which can be tricky. In maths, we are doing some more revision of fractions including adding and subtracting fractions and keeping up with learning times tables which will help you so much with your maths in Year 5.

Have a lovely week everyone, take care and we hope that we might see some drawstring sunglass pouches soon.
