Celebrating with the Henleaze Junior School Community
In 2021, we prepared a whole school celebration, performing together for the first time since the pandemic began in early 2020. Unfortunately, we were not able to go to St. Peter's Church or invite an audience, but the weather was kind to us and we enjoyed the great outdoors!
Our concert was based on the stories behind the Twelve Days of Christmas, and included fascinating facts presented by each of the classes. We also linked the items to our 5 Winning Ways to Wellbeing.

Christmas 2020
The autumn of 2020 was a very tricky time for us in school. Children had returned after several months in lockdown, but we had to keep all the classes separate from each other and had to follow very strict guidelines about singing. This made our traditional Christmas concert something of a challenge, but never ones to be daunted, we put together a fantastic concert for broadcast to our families via Microsoft Teams.
Each class recorded their contributions separately and the concert singers got together for some interesting rehearsals, with half of them being at home and half together in the Hall. Many children recorded themselves singing at home, and we put the whole lot together intot our virtual choir.
you can watch the whole show below, or go tpo the HJSTV Christmas 2020 Showcase to see all the separate bits.
Christmas at St Peter's Church
Usually, we take the whole school round to St Peter's Church for our Christmas Celebration. Here are some clips of the Show Choir and Orchestra in 2019.
Miracle Child
Musical Theatre Club presented their Christmas play to a packed house on Tuesday 18th December 2019. The Orchestra opened the show with a rousing rendition of Holly Jolly Christmas. Show Choir popped up in the middle, singing White Christmas.
