    Lunches

Children may choose each day to have either a packed lunch or a school dinner. Some children like to eat school dinners every day, whilst others like to examine the menu first and book their lunches accordingly.

At lunchtime, each year group is called from the playground in turn, and they line up at the srvery and collect the dinner they have ordered - either a choice of hot meals, including vegetarian option, or a sandwich or wrap. They sit at long tables, and our Lunchtime Leaders encourage them to eat their food, adopt good table manners, and enjoy the social aspect of dining together without too much noise or mess.

    School dinners

All children are entitled to a free meal under the Universal Free Infant School Meal programme. The vast majority of our children take up this option. Your child selecting a meal supports the school in crucial funding. Our menus are below.

We are partnered with Aspens. To find out more about our provider, please click here.

To order, you should download the Swift Kitchen app, which will allow you to choose a meal for your child. If you have any questions about how to use the app, please click here.

    Packed lunches

Children may bring their own packed lunch.

We ask parents to think about the nutritional content of the packed lunches they provide, but we do not impose restrictions. We encourage children to think about healthy food choices.

Some of our children have food allergies, the most common being nut allergies. We ask parents not to include nut-based products in the packed lunches they provide (this includes sesame or hazelnut-chocolate spread).

Drinks provided with packed lunches should  be healthy options. No fizzy drinks and no products marketed as "energy drinks".

    Snacks

Fruit is provided by the council for the morning snack break. Reception children have a second snack in the afternoon for which we request parents/carers provide a second piece or portion of fruit in a named container. KS1 parents can provide fruit for the morning snack if they feel their child won't eat what is provided in school.

We encourage all children to bring a named water bottle to school every day. This should go home to be washed and re-filled each day and can also be refilled in school if it runs out. Please provide leak-proof bottles and avoid metal as this can be unsafe as a heavy material.

    School Milk

Milk is provided free for each child until their 5th birthday, after which you must register and pay for it by contacting School Milk Services directly or through their provider, Cool Milk. You can also contact the school office to enquire about free milk for children who receive free school meals, including any available lactose-free options.

To order and pay for school milk for pupils aged over 5 – please telephone School Milk Services directly on 01934 510950
