On Monday evening, more than 60 Henleaze Junior School children took part in the annual Save The Children Carol Service at Horfield Parish Church. We have taken part almost every year since these concerts began, along with children from other local schools. This year, we took the Show Choir and Orchestra. The other performers were the choir of Filton Avenue Primary School. The HJS Orchestra opened with some Latin American Tango, and then played a beautiful rendition of White Christmas. Show Choir sang I Wish It Could Be Chrsitmas Every Day, Sparkle and Shine and Frosty The Snowman. Money was collected for Save The Children.
Organiser Geoff Stock told us all about the work they do around the world to help children caught up in natural disasters and war zones, and particularly drew attention to the hundreds of thousands who have been forced to leave their homes in Myanmar. We are proud to support charities that bring some hope to children who are suffering, wherever in the world they may be.
