Year 6 Week 3

Key messages from the third week of term.

In Maths this week, we have been focussing on negative numbers dealing with crossing zero and calculating with negatives and positives.

In English, we are trying to get the puctuation rules for speech sorted. This can be complicated and so we will be doing lots of practise all year and keeping an eye out in our reading books. We are also beginning to draft our Warning Stories focussing on basic punction, including commas in a list, our descriptions and joined writing.

In spelling, we are looking at suffixes beginning with a vowel (ing, ed, er, est) where the root word does not change.
