Key messages from the Year 6 Team for the 4th week of term.

In Maths this week, we have begun revising the formal methods for addition continuing with subraction next week. Look out for arithmetic tests coming home each week these are an invaluable revision tool as well as giving you an indication of your child's confidence.

In English this week, we are editing and improving our Warning Stories. Next week, we will begin a unit on newspaper report writing - some of your reading at home could be of newspapers and news websites in preparation.

In spellings we are continuing to add suffixes to words. This week we are focussing of suffixes that begin with a consonant:

-ful   -less   -ment

-ness    -ly

Well done to the candidates for School Council, once again we heard some eloquent and convincing speeches. Our captains and vice-captains are looking forward to helping with the elections this Friday.

We are hosting an interschool Cross-Country competition next Friday afternoon. All children will be involved and so will need to have their PE kit in school.
