Another week, another chance for us to work hard and try our best in Year Five!
Literacy - This week we are building on our work on persuasion from last week, and starting to find these features in persuasive letters. We are also looking at how the structure needed to set out a letter, and what kind of language is used in letter writing.
Spelling - We are moving to a new spelling pattern this week, looking at words with a silent t.
Maths - We are continuing our work on multiples and factors this week. For this section of work, it is really important that the children have a secure knowledge of their times tables, so please support your children with as much tables practice as you can muster at home!
This week, Year 5 will have a chance to visit the book fair on Wednesday afternoon. They will be able to browse the available books and buy one if it really catches their eye! Children will need to bring some money with them on Wednesday, as they can't place an order, or buy a book, without money! The book fair will be open to parents as well on Thursday after school if you would like to come along and browse with your children.
