This week in school, clubs have started, and lots of children are really looking forward to trying something a little bit new or different, and getting more involved in the school community.
Literacy-We are continuing our work on Beowulf, moving on from action sequences to descriptions of all kinds of monsters and beast, using some really powerful, juicy language! We are also revising word classes, making sure we can recognise nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs and prepositions in sentences.
Spelling- We are coming to the end of unit 1 words, silent b, and have also started our first set of orange words. These orange words are the ones children should be able to identify and correct in their independent writing.
Maths-We are continuing to look at the number system, using place value to help us round and order 6 digit numbers.
There are still a few outstanding Deanfield medical letters and payments; these need to be brought in to the office as soon as possible please-it's coming round sooner than you think!
Flu letters also need to be brought in and handed to either the office or a class teacher by Wednesday 26th Sept.
