Wonderful week 3

Year 5, term 5 week 3

This week we have been blown away with all of the amazing emails we have received. Thank you to everyone for sharing all of the fantastic things that you are doing, we love to hear from you! We have had some people tell us that they are finding that their emails are not sending through the website link - if this is so; simply send them to your class email address. (You may also find it useful to choose 1 or 2 pieces which you are proud of and attach them to one message rather than sending many individual emails- this also makes it easier for your teacher to reply to you.)

We have also enjoyed talking on the phone to some of you and thank you for taking the time to tell your teachers about what you have enjoyed and what you have excelled in over the last few weeks.

We have been alerted that there are a couple of incorrect answers on last Wednesday's Maths sheets. On the 2 ** sheet, the answer for 356/100 is given as 0.356 rather than 3.56 and on the 3 *** sheet the answer for 709/100 is given as 0.709 rather than 7.09. Also Rapid reasoning Week 1 Day 3 question 3 "This machine has two operation buttons and a screen showing the score etc....." Had the incorrect answer of 381,718 not 361,918-sorry if this has caused any head aches.

Week 3

This week in English we will be looking at how to use parentheses in your writing and our spelling lesson focuses on the 'ee' sound. There is also a topical reading comprehension on Captain Tom Moore who has raised over loads of money for the NHS.

We have a fantastic lesson inspired by the work of Damien Hirst for Art, we continue to look at life cycles in Science and we think about why religious teachings and stories are important to different faiths in R.E.

Here are a selection of some of the amazing things that you have been doing.

Dylan in class 5 has written a poem about apple blossom inspired by the work of David Hockney.

Lying in the Sun one day
A surprising shower came my way
A palest  pink to almost white
It’s a touch, a whisper featherlight
I sat up surprised to see
The apple blossom floating free

Fantastic flower dissection by Gabriel in Class 5

Izzy class 5's Reading challenge

Megan’s rainforest diorama (Class 6)

Archie class 4's work inspired by Mr Parr's assembly
