This week we have been continuing with our place value work in Maths. We have been writing a 6 digit number and seeing what happens when we add and takeaway 1, 10, 100, 1000. We have also been looking at negative numbers and putting them on a number line.
In English; some classes have been continuing with their Beowulf work while others have been working on editing and writing correct simple sentences. We have been checking tense, spelling, punctuation and also trying to use fronted adverbials (which is when you move the adverb to the start of the sentence. E.g- Suddenly, the monster arose or Out of the darkness, the man walked. )
In Science we have been investigating air resistance and how it is effected by surface area.
Our spelling pattern is ‘able’.
We are all getting very excited about Dean Field next week. Remember to bring in empty cereal boxes for the enrichment activities at school. All kit lists and information about the residential trio can be found on the school website.
