We have been doing lots of work on verbs with week in English, especially looking at past, present and future tense verbs. We have also been looking at a variety of legends inclduing the story of the Grendel and Beowolf and some of us have finished writing our own description of a dragon.
In maths we have continued to look at place value with a particular focus on rounding and partitioning numbers.
What are we doing this week
English - We will continue our work on legends, building up to creating our own legend story. We will also have a grammar focus of prepositions and be doing lots of checking and editing of our writing.
Maths - We will be furthering our knowledge of place value making sure we feel really secure with how numbers work. We will be doing lots of problem solving and reasoning to put our knowledge to the test. Do you think you could put your parents to the test and explain how to work this one out?
Spelling - We will be transitioning to learning a new spelling pattern this week which will be -ible. Have a look below to see the sorts of words we will be working with.
Children are starting to prepare themselves for our school council elections which are happening next Friday. Election posters have started to appear and children are given a chance to make a speech. Good luck everybody.
