TIn maths, we are learning about decimals and making links to fractions, percentages, cms and multiplying and dividing. Children should continue to regularly practise their tables (up to x12) for their weekly homework.
In English, we are writing a recount –newspaper report. We are including many features found in a newspaper thinking about direct and reported speech. Some of us are moving onto Explanation Texts.
These spellings, although tested in school, are hugely important and we ask for parental support in learning and revising rules for spellings as these will be expanded on in upper Key Stage 2.
Unit 10 –Adding il and revising un- in-, mis-, dis.
Before root words beginning with l, the prefix in becomes il-.
It changes a word to give its opposite meaning. No changes are made to the root word before we add il-.
