At the moment, in English, we are looking at fantasy stories and have been reading examples to inspire our own writing. We have also looked at speech punctuation and the use of conjunctions.
In Maths, we have been practising adding and subtracting numbers that involve exchanging.
This week our focus has been on times tables and their inverse. Eg 4x5 = 20 can be shown in 4 ways.
4 x 5 = 20
5 x 4 = 20
20 ÷ 4 = 5
20 ÷ 5 = 4
In Spellings we are doing the prefix’s –in and –dis.
From now onwards the children will be looking at a new spelling pattern every two weeks rather than every week. We are also now looking at orange words.
