HJS Bake Off 2018

Hot on the heels of the Christmas Cake competition, we ran our first cupcake bake-off in the spring term of 2018.

Children were given a standard recipe and asked to bake a set of 6 cupcakes at home. On bake-off day, they brought them into school for judging, and after school they were sold to raise money for our partner school, Kasongoire Primary School in Uganda.

Cakes were judged for creativity, appearance, bake quality and taste. In each class there was a winner for design, a winner for baking and an overall winner.

The overall winners in the Year 5 and 6 classes were then judged again and whittled down to a final three. Sam, Maddie and Natasha were then asked to join together as a team to represent Henleaze Junior School in the NW24 Big Bake.
